Job Description:
The vacancy in the WIARD Promotions Press Team will mainly involve writing for the WIARD FM online magazine which is targeted at readers in the age range of 16-24 years old and primarily located in the East Midlands (Leicester, Nottingham, Loughborough, Derby and Peterborough) and is focused on music and fashion.
Whilst the role of journalist is not currently a paid position candidate should relish the fact the articles published in the on-line magazine will be included in the printed publications of our off-line partners.
Journalist/writers will be offered assignments on a weekly basis which will involve producing copy covering the following areas:
- news articles
- news features
- interviews (musical artists etc)
- concert/event reviews
- fashions shows
- music reviews
Person Specification:
Ideally a student of either; English, Journalism or any other media (or marketing) related discipline at;
- De Montfort University
- Leicester University
- Nottingham University
- Nottingham Trent University
- University of Derby
Skills Required:
- strong vocabulary
- good grammar
- creative writing style
- awareness of contemporary topics and events happening in the media
